There are two types of 401(k) plans to choose from – a Traditional 401(k) or a Roth 401(k). You can choose to have one or to have both – completely up to you.

Traditional 401(k)
Funded by employees’ earned pre-tax dollars. Allows for employer matching contributions. Any withdrawal subject to taxation, even in retirement.
Roth 401(k)
Funded by employees’ earned after-tax dollars. Allows for employer matching contributions. Any withdrawal at/during retirement are tax-free. Must be open for at least 5 years prior to withdrawing money.

Built for the self employed, you can make contributions as both the employee and employer. Spouses may also be included.

SIMPLE 401(k)
Designed specifically for small businesses. Along with Safe Habor, SIMPLE 401(k)s are exempt from non-discriminatory tests, and employers must make contributions to their employees’ plans.
